"FLIP"

A short film by animator Jill Hackett, with an original score composed by ERIC BAKHCH-POUR, for the Marvin Hamlish CINE Film Scoring Competition for Emerging Composers 2015.

Here is what the judges Daniel Carlin, George S. Clinton and Mychael Danna had to say about it :

" The music you have composed for this film is beautifully written and orchestrated. You use musical devices effectively and competently to reflect the visuals in the film.
The sonic quality of this production is also very high, this a vital requirement from modern film composers when the music budget isn’t big enough to hire live players.

There were a couple of scenes where I felt you held back, and I would’ve liked to hear something a little bigger and more bombastic to emphasize the drama in this animation.
One scene in particular is when Emma jumps from the ballon. As this is the climax of the film before the resolution. It would’ve been effective to reflect that more so in the music.
I think keeping the music that you’ve written would work fine, but changing the orchestration to make it bigger would help."
