"SEBASTIAN'S VOODOO"

A short film by Disney animator Joaquin Baldwin, with an original score composed by ERIC BAKHCH-POUR, for the 2nd Annual CINE Film Scoring Competition for Emerging Composers.

Over 220 scores were submitted as part of this year's competition.

Sadly, Eric's score didn't get selected. But here is what the judges Daniel Carlin, George S. Clinton and Mychael Danna had to say about it :

" The composer's use of piano and woodwinds in the beginning is great, he also takes this theme and develops it, which shows command of the music as well as musical continuity. The orchestration and creativity of the score are both very high. The biggest downfall in this score is the moment where the protagonist is impaling himself to save his friend, I strongly feel there was not enough drama and build up here. The composer does take command of this scene again when the protagonist is about to impale himself through the heart, the music in here is wonderful and powerful, but I feel that it needed to start about 15-20 seconds earlier and build into that great climax."
